The UK has the most depressing and extreme commercials I have ever seen!! Alot of them are designed to scare you into wearing your seatbelt, not speeding, not drinking, etc., which I guess is a good thing but sometimes I think they take it too far. Some of the commercials are so graphic!! I have included a couple of commercials, but I didn't include all of them because I think some of them are just too graphic to put on here.
Oh, and I also threw in a commercial about helping donkeys. At first, I thought it was some type of joke, but then when I realized it was real I found it to be very depressing, especially the donkey's sad British voice. Enjoy!
And now for the violent Public Service Announcements:
This one is my favorite because what are the odds that this would ever really happen??

Hey Lydia what is the name of your CRO? We are reviewing one from Cincinnati and I was just wondering if it was yours...Kendle.

Hi Aunt Sherron,
I work for Medpace. I do know a few people who work for Kendle though.
Wooowwwww! They really put a lot of effort into those commercials. They came up with the most random scenarios known to mankind. I love it even though they are a bit dramatic and graphic! Now, that donkey commercial was so pitiful, especially with the British accent. That commercial was longer than the starving children commercials LOL! Poor donkey! I bet Mommy would have a fit if she saw that donkey commercial.
Yes, they are totally trying to get the message across by fear. I ended up laughing at most of them, though. The donkey one left me in a whirlwind of emotions...I went from laughing to feeling sad, then to laughing again, and so on. I was laughing at the end, though, so it's all good.
I just didn't get the one with the little girl going back in time who gets put back together and is then drug through the street. Was she laying in the street when she got hit? Who needs a PSA to tell you not to let your kids lay in the street? It did nothing but confuse me and creep me out.
That last one was both hilarious and ridiculous. A car rolls into two people cuddling on a stone fence? When has this ever happened before?
Mommy also doesn't need to see the one where the man was talking on the cell phone whilst driving (that whilst was for you, Lydia). She always scolds me because I do most of my phone calling whilst I'm driving.
These are some crazy commercials and those are only half of them!! I usually end up chuckling at them, but can you imagine enjoying a meal in front of the TV and all of a sudden one of these horror-movie commercials comes on? Sort of ruins your appetite, especially if you are not expecting it. They like to go for the shock value where everything seems normal at first and then something gruesome or horrific happens in the end.
The commercial with the little girl was trying to illustrate that you should only drive 30 miles per hour because people will have a better chance of living if you hit them at that rate of speed. I really don't know how she ended up on the tree like that! They always show this commercial at the movie theater before the previews come on. Nice! LOL!
I decided to take a gamble with the donkey commercial and the talking whilst (thanks Tobina!) driving commercial since I don't think Debbie reads my blog very often. Abby and Toby are both right that she would have a fit if she saw either of these commercials, especially the donkey one.
